Barbados is a tropical getaway located just east of the caribbean sea in the Atlantic Ocean. The island is the easternmost of the Lesser Antilles. Barbados is relatively flat compared to its neighboring islands with the high point being Mt. Hillaby at 1,120ft above sea level. Much of the country is circled by coral reefs making Barbados a hot spot for snorkeling and scuba diving. The climate of Barbados is ideal for anyone who loves warm weather and sunshine. The island experiences a dry and wet season much like the other islands in this region. Typically the dry season is December-May and the wet season is June-November. Barbados is often spared from the worst effects of tropical storms that come through the region. Just outside the hurricane "strike-zone" Barbados has not experienced a significant hit by a hurricane since 1955.
Home to numerous internationally known hotels the island can accommodate any vacationer. Attractions on the island include a festive night-life, wildlife reserves, jewelry stores, scuba diving, helicopter rides, golf, cave exploration, exotic drinks and shopping! Come and visit Barbados and experience a vacation you will never forget!
